It is human nature to recognize what you see, but what about those things that you don't see? Some of your biggest blessings are invisible. You do not always see what you have already been blessed with because you have been expecting something else.
Another common mistake we tend to make is comparing what we have with what others have. Imagine a kid who wanted an blue bmx 1000 racer bike. He always talked about it to his family and friends. He done all his chores and duties around the house, with hopes of impressing his parents. He even started saving his allowance so that he can purchase it himself.
His parents surprise him with it one day and he was ecstatic. They literally had to pry him off of it every night. He took it by all his friends, and they marveled until little Joseph from down the street showed up with a red bmx 1500 racer bike. The newer upgraded version received more attention. The first kid will lose interest and eventually will want what little joseph has.
We are like that kid. We see others get blessed and it makes us forget about what we have already been blessed with. God is the best gift giver, just do not get in the habit of comparing your blessings to others. Appreciate where you are and what you have even if it isn't much. God resist the proud but gives grace to the humble...
Luke 12:15b
One's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.
